Danish beer with a conscience

Delicious Danish cuisine served at EXPO
Danish restaurant owner, chef and cookbook author Adam Aamann will be in charge of the food at the Danish pavilion where guests can try famous Danish specialities such as the open-faced sandwiches known as 'smørrebrød'.

Pavilion Preview to be held on 30 November
On 30 November there will be a special preview of the Danish pavilion on the construction site in Shanghai. By that time, the raw building will have been finished. A Danish delegation will be present at the preview. The delegation includes architect Bjarke Ingels of achitectural group BIG, who will guide a tour of the pavilion, and Ritt Bjerregaard, Lord Mayor, City of Copenhagen.

Welfairytales exhibition in Shanghai
The pavilion preview on 30 November is not the only promotion event in November. During the week before, from 23 to 28 November, an exhibition will be held in Shanghai where visitors can learn more about the Danish EXPO project.

Pavilion from 2008 wins important award
In early October this year the Danish EXPO 2008 pavilion was awarded a prestigious prize for its architecture.

New website launched
The new website for the Danish EXPO 2010 pavilion is now on line. On www.expo2010.dk you can find information in both English and Chinese about the Danish EXPO 2010 project and who is behind the Danish project. You can also become acquainted with the Little Mermaid and get more detailed information about the exhibition, the events and the pavilion.

Current news from EXPO 2010 Shanghai
The world’s first Hans Christian Andersen theme park will open in Shanghai’s Yangpu District. The Andersen’s Fairy Park will open in May 2010 to mark the start of EXPO 2010 and the 60 years of business relations between Denmark and China. The park will cover an area of 81,400 square metres and the investor is Shanghai Gujing Investment Co Ltd.
Shanghai taxis will be upgrated and have a new dispatch system where English-speaking interpreters can speak with the passengers. The taxi drivers, around 100,000 in Shanghai, have been instructed to wear blue suits, white shirts and blue ties during the 6-month EXPO period.
The steel structure of the US pavilion has now been completed after an aggressive 89-day building effort. The US made a last-minute decision to join EXPO 2010 after having had difficulties getting sufficient funding.
